as a food professional i thought it was ridiculous. however i did mangae to get my hands on it. and am a proud owner. i love it. quite interesting.
ladies- you'd spend 500$ to 2500$ on a brand new coach or hermes purse right?
everyone has there limits. some friends of mine will spend thousands of dollar to go and see the superbowl.... again everyone has their price.
everyone who had something negative to say, think about it.
the purse isnt an investment because next year you know you will buy a new one and as for the superbowl- its better on tv!

Looks very interesting, but after buying this cookbook, I would have no money left, particularly after buying the rich ingredients! But, it is fun to browse.

one word: ridiculous! I would MAYBE (that's a big maybe) serve as a taster for the 20+ team, that might be interesting. Food frozen in liquid nitrogen?? Phleeeaze, I don't think your typical chef would know what liquid nitrogen is, let alone use it. waste of time to even read all this bull.

It will be distributed an pirated on the internet because of its ridiculous price tag. They would make more money if it was cheaper.

It said "candied grapefruit" I may not know a lot about cooking, but how to you candie a grapefruit? Do you place a ripe grapefruit in a can and wait for it to die? I think they meant to say candried grapefruit. It makes much more sense to me to put a grapefruit in a can and wait for it to dry.

I don't care if it IS intended for professional chef, this whole thing is a load of pretentious self-congratulatory horses---. "Molecular Gastronomy" is just an excuse for culinary school nerds to show off the self-perceived imagination (Check out the cool dish I made using liquid nitrogen and reverse spherification. Who cares if it tastes like crap, its cool!) Even worse is charging $625 for the instruction books on how to do it. That money could help fund a soup kitchen so people wouldn't have to dumpster-dive for their next meal. That $625 could be a god-sent to a single parent who has to feed their kids happy meals because they can't afford to buy fresh healthy food from a grocery store.
