7 Citrus-Inspired Recipes for Holiday Detox

I love finding new ways to enjoy citrus. There's nothing like a splash of fruit juice to make an already healthy meal feel lighter. Now that we're all stuffing our faces with cookies and wine, citrus is an especially great way to detox from dense-calorie-overload. On the days when I'm not going to a holiday party or a cookie swap or a bake sale, I try to balance my diet with some healthy fare. Here are some of my favorite citrus bites.

    1. Grapefruit-Lover's Smoothie

This Grapefruit-Lovers Smoothie is deep purple and packs a zing-filled punch in each frosty fruity sip. So if you smile in delight when you see a bright pink, freshly sliced morning grapefruit - give this smoothie a try. Healthy antioxidants and fiber make this a citrus smoothie to crave and feel good about. And did you know: pink grapefruit contains the health-touted phytonutrient lycopene - also found in tomatoes.
