    Coca-Cola's Secret Recipe...Revealed!

    A recipe that has been closely guarded with "bank vault" level protection is today's hottest Google search. Hold your horses, WikiLeaks, Ira Glass and his this American Life crew have done a bit of digging and discovered what they believe to be the actual, original recipe of Coca Cola. The recipe (below) was revealed on the weekend edition of the This American Life broadcast.

    When members of the radio show staff mixed up a batch of the formula, they were unable to differentiate between their own concoction, and that of the actual bottled drink. Interested in trying your own taste test at home? Here's the formula, as it was revealed on the show.

    The recipe is 2oz of flavor for ever 5 gal of syrup:


    Flavor
    Alcohol: 8 oz
    Orange oil: 20 drops
    Lemon oil: 30 drops
    Nutmeg oil: 10 drops
    Coriander: 5 drops
    Neroli: 10 drops
    Cinnamon: 10 drops

    Syrup
    Fluid extract of Coca: 3 drams USP
    Citric acid: 3 oz
    Caffeine: 1 oz
    Sugar: 30 (unclear quantity)
    Water: 2.5 gal
    Lime juice: 2 pints, 1 quart
    Vanilla: 1 oz
    Caramel: 1.5 oz or more for color
