    The Food52 Oscar Dress Awards

Here at Food52, food is always on our minds. So, as we ate our popcorn and sipped our martinis at our Oscar viewing parties, our commentary was less snark, more snack: who is smuggling cookies in their purse? Is that white dress just a red wine stain waiting to happen?

Now that the show is over, let the fun begin! Who wore what when, and what did you think of it? We thought everyone looked shiny and fabulous, of course, but a few looks in particular caught our eye. We'd like to hand out a few awards of our own -- tell us your favorites in the comments!

Best Dress in Which to Hide Many Snacks: Jennifer Lawrence

Worst Dress to Go Wine Tasting In: Charlize Theron

Best Dress to Grate Nutmeg On: Jessica Chastain
(See all those little sparkles? Don't they seem ... abrasive?)

Best Dress to Throw On and Cook a Batch of Tomato Sauce: Sally Field
(You won't even need an apron!)

Worst Dress to Roll Out Dough In: Brandi Glanville
(Or really do anything that involves bending over at all.)

    • Blackberry Cornmeal Cake
      Blackberry Cornmeal Cake

You can substitute an equal amount of fresh blueberries for the blackberries; be sure to rinse and dry them thoroughly before scattering over the batter.

Yellow cornmeal produces a dessert that has a rich, golden color, but you could use white cornmeal instead.
