    Haunting Halloween Party Apps

    Give your guests a delicious scare this Halloween with these spooky appetizers.

    The Great White Pumpkin Cheese Ball
    Ingredients
    2 (10-oz.) blocks extra-sharp white Cheddar cheese, shredded (Extra-sharp Cheddar cheese may be substituted)
    1 (8-oz.) package cream cheese, softened
    2 (4-oz.) goat cheese logs, softened
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    Braided pretzel, muscadine vine and leaf
    Crackers and assorted vegetables

    Preparation
    Stir together first 4 ingredients. Shape mixture into a ball to resemble a pumpkin. Smooth pumpkin's entire surface with metal spatula or table knife. Make vertical grooves in ball, if desired, using fingertips. Press pretzel into top of cheese ball to resemble a pumpkin stem; place muscadine vine and leaf beside pretzel. Serve with crackers and assorted vegetables.

    Monster Eyes
    Ingredients
    3 cups all-purpose baking mix
    1 lb. ground hot pork sausage
    1 8-oz. block Muenster cheese, shredded
    1 7-oz. jar pimiento cheese-stuffed Spanish olives

    Preparation
    Combine 3 cups all-purpose baking mix; 1 lb. ground hot pork sausage; and 1 (8-oz.) block Muenster cheese, shredded, in a large bowl until blended. Shape sausage mixture into 1 1/4-inch balls, and place on lightly greased baking sheets. Press 1 pimiento-stuffed Spanish olive deeply into center of each ball. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

    Deviled Green Goblin Eggs
    Ingredients
    6 cups hot water
    1 (0.3-oz.) bottle yellow liquid food coloring
    1/2 (0.3-oz.) bottle blue liquid food coloring
    1/2 (0.3-oz.) bottle green liquid food coloring
    2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
    12 large unpeeled hard-cooked eggs, with shells cracked
    1/2 cup instant potato flakes
    1/2 cup mayonnaise
    1/2 cup sour cream
    1/4 cup minced fresh chives
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. seasoned pepper

    Preparation
    Stir together first 5 ingredients in a large bowl; add eggs, and let stand 1 hour. Remove and drain on paper towels. Peel eggs to reveal pattern on whites.

    Cut eggs in half lengthwise; carefully remove yolks. Mash yolks; stir in potato flakes and next 5 ingredients until blended.

    Spoon the yolk mixture evenly into egg white halves. Attach 2 halves, gently pressing together stuffed sides.

    Trash Mix
    Ingredients
    1 (16-oz.) package candy corn
    1 (15-oz.) package pretzel nibblers
    1 (12-oz.) package caramel popcorn and peanuts
    1 (15-oz.) package banana chips
    1 (15-oz.) package dried mango
    1 (15-oz.) package dried pineapple
    1 (10-oz.) package toffee pretzels
    1 (6-oz.) package sweetened dried cranberries
    1 (6-oz.) package worm-shaped chewy candy

    Preparation
    Stir together all ingredients. Store in an airtight container.

    Goblin Dip with Bone Crackers
    Ingredients
    1 (16-oz.) can chili without beans
    1 (16-oz.) can refried beans
    1 (8-oz.) package cream cheese
    1 (8-oz.) jar chunky pico de gallo
    1 (4.5-oz.) can chopped green chiles, undrained
    1/2 tsp. ground cumin
    Toppings: shredded Cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese with peppers, chopped black olives, sliced green onions
    Bone Crackers

    Bone Crackers
    Cut 2 (13.5-oz.) packages 9-inch flour tortillas with a 3 1/2-inch bone-shaped cutter, and place on baking sheets. Stir together 1/2 cup melted butter and 1/4 tsp. garlic salt; brush mixture on tortillas. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until crisp.

    Preparation
    Cook first 6 ingredients in a heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring often, 15 minutes or until cream cheese is melted. Sprinkle with desired toppings, and serve warm with Bone Crackers.
