    High Energy Bars with Dried Cranberries

    4 cups wheat and barley nugget cereal (e.g., Grape Nuts)

    1 cup dried cranberries (or dried fruit of your choice)

    1 cup peanut butter

    1 cup honey

    2/3 cup packed dark brown sugar

    Lightly spray a 13x9-inch baking pan, or line pan with foil.

    Mix the cereal and fruit in a large bowl.

    Mix the peanut butter, honey, and brown sugar in a medium saucepan set over medium heat. Cook and stir until mixture comes to a gentle boil. Pour mixture over cereal and fruit, stirring until well-blended.

    Transfer entire mixture to prepared pan. With a large square of wax paper, press mixture firmly into prepared pan. Chill for 1 hour to set. Cut into 30 bars. Wrap bars in plastic wrap and store in an airtight container. Makes 30 bars.
