Jack In The Box doesn't come out with new products often, but when they do look out because they mean business. The new menu option that's aptly called the Jumbo Breakfast Platter has: Scrambled Eggs, Hash Brown Sticks, Pancakes, and your choice of either Bacon or Sausage. Here at foodreview we don't usually condone eating fast food platters like this because of their gut busting amount of calories and everything else, however we decided to step it up and split this meal between a few of us here so that we could decide whether this new menu item is worth its weight in your money.
The company is advertising this as a huge breakfast platter of almost everything you could possible order on the menu, and can be viewed as the Grand Slam of Jack In The Box. As you can see from the picture the order comes loaded with more than enough food for one person, which is why we split the meal between us and perhaps as you should think about doing as well. The pancakes are silver dollar size and aren't too exciting with a dense texture going throughout the cake, however they disappear pretty fast with only two bites. The eggs are standard fast food fare and are more rubbery than anything with an OK flavor that benefits well from a little pepper. The bacon on this platter wasn't crispy at all which didn't go over well for our tasters and could've benefited with a little more time in the skillet. The best thing this platter has to offer is perhaps the easiest thing to make, that being the Hash Brown Sticks that were warm and steamy once bitter into, and benefited the most from a dip in some ketchup. Overall (2 out of 5).
The pros are that the Hash Browns are OK.
The cons are that the pancakes are dense, the bacon is limp, the eggs are rubbery, and the gut busting nutrition of this huge platter.
