    Valentine's Dinner: Splurge vs. Steal

If you've got a load of cash to drop on V-Day, there's no shortage of store-bought or restaurant-procured luxuries on which you can blow your dough. But a frugal romantic need not fall short in the wooing department. Just look at Lady and the Tramp: drippy candle, table for two, smoochfest. But if you want a touch more luxury than a plate of spaghetti in an alley, a little know-how and imagination can create a Valentine's Day that's more thoughtful, more delicious, and much more affordable than anything you can find in a restaurant, promise. Stay home on Valentine's with our guide of swoon-worthy steals, and you should have money leftover for flowers. Happy romancing!

I love Gino, and anything we do together at home is always good. I would rather cook something together, and just spend time alone...than any of that fancy candy or truffles. That is what makes it special.

Chocolate candy is candy you eat it and it is gone. But real Love is forever!

My husband gave me a dozen roses, and a tiny little heart shaped cake with the words, I love you, on top. For dinner, he put on his chef's coat and grilled two rib eyes, oven roasted asparagus, baked potatoes, salad and Italian bread. We had Prosecco, and red wine with dinner, and we had a cup of coffee and that tiny cake for dessert. When time came to eat, he took off the Chef's jacket and he had on his suit underneath. And a tie. What a romantic. My big, romantic Italian husband. Te Amo, Paulo!!

I'm not a sweet eater, so candy, No thank you. Flowers die and I'll get enough at my funeral. Buy me a plant or bush that will grow forever is fine with me. But, all in all, I don't need anything.....A Hug, kiss and I love you works for me.
