You are what you give your trick-or-treaters-
Michelle Obama is a woman of principal, even on Halloween..
"She's been giving, for the last few years, kids fruit and raisins in a bag," the first lady's husband (also known as the president) told the Tonight Show's Jay Leno this past week. Health initiatives aside, there's a time and a place for nature's candy, and most kids will tell you it's not on October 31st in the plastic jack-o-lantern marked 'trick or treat'.
Barack Obama is also on team candy. Fearing an White House egging, he told his wife: "'You need to throw some candy in there...A couple Reese's Pieces or something.'"

"I think most folks tend to give out what they like," says Steve Almond, author of the historical sweets guide, CandyFreak: A Journey through the Chocolate Underbelly of America. "There's a dual motive here." Steve less
