Blue Eyes
If the smoky eye is your go-to look for a night out, try this new twist. "Instead of gray shadow, use blue," advises Christopher Del Castillo, MAC Cosmetics senior artist. Start by lining your top lids with black eyeliner, then sweep on shadow (whether matte or sparkly is up to you) from your lashline to just above the crease. Add a touch of light brown shadow at the crease so the blue blends in seamlessly. Del Castillo's rule of thumb: "When you're playing up any one feature, keep the rest of your look simple."

Peachy Pink Cheeks
The naturally flushed look is out; the rich, I-just-hit-the-gym glow is in, says celebrity makeup artist Mathew Nigara of NYC New York Color. To get the look, he recommends using the tip of your ring finger to dab a cheek stain or cream blush (they're more vibrant and last longer than powders) along your cheekbones, then layer on the color until you reach the desired shade. Hint: Apply blush on top of foundation, then a translucent powder to set your makeup.

Plum Lips
"Purple is the 'it' lip color for spring," says Sonia Kashuk, makeup artist and founder of Sonia Kashuk Beauty. And, surprisingly, it's more wearable than red. "If you look closely, you'll notice that your lips have more plum than red undertones, so a purple lipstick is actually quite flattering." Still unsure? Try this: Apply color with a lip brush, spreading it from the middle of your lips to the edges. This method will help control the intensity, so you'll end up with a shade you're comfortable with.
