Get ready to ditch those boots and put some instant spring into your step!

If you're anything like me you are so over winter coats, thick sweater tights and the overbearing feel of winter. Unfortunately Mother Nature and mother fashion are not always on the same climate schedule and though all of her fashionistas are ready to move on to warm weather looks-we still have a few snowfalls to smile and scrape through. However, that doesn't mean you can't update your wardrobe immediately. Most of these styles can carry you through 'til spring, especially when paired with your favorite jacket or jeans.
1. Floral Print Dress
My absolute favorite spring update, perfect with tights and a bright cardigan. Alice + Olivia Cabella silk floral print dress ($297, bloomingdales.com)
2. Two Trends In One
When we find an item that melds two trends together, without looking like an art school disaster, we rejoice louder than a Friday on a three day weekend. These nautical stripes and lace look hot topped with a blazer and skinny jeans. Quotation red haute striped top with lace applique. ($78, bloomingdales.com)
3. Pointed Ballet Slipper
Ballet flats aren't going anywhere this season. They make a feminine pairing with other seasonal trends such as the floral dress and dressy shorts. But when it's still freezing and you need a touch of spring, try them with jeans, or cigarette pants. Don't be shy, go for the ones with bling! Pointed-toe ballet flats ($39.90, express.com)
4. Bright Satchel
Nothing beats the winter blues like a well-placed splash of arm candy.Elliott Lucca Olivia satchel ($178, elliottlucca.com)
5. Bold Patent Belt
Bright and wide these belts will add a layer of fun sophistication to any outfit. This one we love for its cool green color- and for lending a "cinch" to any waist. Besides, how could anything Burberry not brighten up your day? Burberry Prorsum patent leather waist belt. ($495, net-a-porter.com)
6. Zebra Wedges
So hot, that even I, who has been diligently saving all of her writer earnings to spend May in Paris, is going to jump on these sexy must-haves. Wedges are hot. Animal print? Even hotter. Put them together, and your feet will be on fire from now until- well, look at these babies, dare we say, forever? Tapeet by Vincini Y0042Z ($195, zapposcouture.com)
7. Draped Dresses
These dresses are great for so many reasons- lady-like, classic and pulled together- not to mention very forgiving. The draped shape hides last nights pizza and beer while you have tonight's salad and chardonnay. What could be more elegant than that? Forever 21 Elegant Draping Dress ($27.80, forever21.com)
8. The Classic Trench
Sexy couldn't scream spring any louder, with this absolute wardrobe essential. Try it cropped and in a bright hue for a trendy spin on his classic style. Either traditional or trendy, you can't miss. Jou Jou Coat long-sleeve lightweight belted trench ($59.99, macys.com)
This spring take nautical in a fun, different direction than your usual striped sweater or red canvas wedges (not that there's anything wrong with either of those). Go for fun, sea-worthy jewelry to update any look. Milly nautical charm bracelet ($125, bergdorfgoodman.com)
Nothing says spring better than romance, and what says romance better than lace? Try a lace tunic for a modern, sleek shape. Or try a cute lace cardigan with rolled boyfriend jeans and ballet flats. Arden B lace tunic overlay ($39, ardenb.com)
