Color, color, color: Bright pops of color aren't just for clothing! Go for a single candy coated shade, or channel your inner Louis Vuitton. The brand's Spring 2011 collection featured multiple, vibrant colors mixed together for a striking statement. If you're feeling especially bold, Celebrity Fashion Stylist Colin McDonald recommends an electrifying neon option, perfect when paired with trendy white. One of his favorites? The Single Bag by Marc Jacobs ($525.)
Tassels: You've seen them on the runway…now take them to the realway! Not only do tassels add a fun and feminine twist to your look, you can find them on store shelves in a variety of sizes. (If you're going bananas for the trend, you can also scoop up tassel accented shoes and jewelry.) Try out Rebecca Minkoff's Ostrich Tassel Mini Morning After Bag ($525.) McDonald says it's a perfect day-to-evening bag that you can incorporate in any look.
Stripes: McDonald says they're back and bolder than ever! Pump up the volume on a "plain" outfit with this must-have pattern. A perfect addition to your wardrobe is the Nautical Nylon Tote by Milly ($325.)
Clutches: Bottega Veneta, Helmut Lang and Gucci got it right: clutches are still a warm weather must. Mary Alice Haney with ThisNext.com is gaga for ones that look like mini shoulder bags, like the Syn Bag by Helmut Lang. ($350)
For a unique twist, try a textured clutch in raffia (like this one by Lauren Merkin), mesh or animal print and take your warm weather look to the next level.
White: Chic, classic and summertime-ready, Haney says white bags will keep you looking fresh and trendy. Who says minimal means boring? One of her favorites is the Alexander Wang Ryan Clutch ($725), spotted on the spring runway.
Shop Around: If you can only invest in one go-to style, Haney recommends a classic that you can wear from season to season, like this cheery option from Loewe's Spring Summer 2011 Collection.
For something more low key, choose a bag in a neutral color that you can wear from day to night. Try Steve Madden's BMercy ($78).
If you've gotta get your hands on spring's "it" bag, McDonald says fashionistas are fawning over the new Lady Dior Tricolor Cannage Top Handle Bag by Christian Dior. It's been injected with some of spring's most sought after colors.
At a cool $3,100, most of us can only dream of calling the Dior our own! Browse designer names at a fraction of the cost at online sample sites like Gilt Group and RueLaLa and retailers like Bluefly.com. Or, check out places like ASOS, J.Crew, H&M and Topshop to snag clutch trends at a fraction of the cost.
