The Best Sunglasses for Your Face Shape

With spring right around the corner, we couldn't be more excited to talk about your most important warm weather accessory-sunglasses! There's no better time than right now to revisit a few styling tips to ensure you're sporting the most flattering pair of shades for your face. Read on for our tried and true guidelines even celebrities abide by:

    Triangle-Shaped Faces

Glasses should always provide a nice contrast to your face shape to create a sense of balance and highlight your natural features. Here, Rihanna and Matthew McConaughey both exhibit triangular facial features such as broad foreheads and narrow chins, so their angular lines call for more rounded shades. Ladies, go for cat eye frames that are rounded at the bottom, but come up into an angle at the top, like the ones we've collected here. Guys, try square shades with rounded corners to balance out your face shape.

    Oval-Shaped Faces

Kate Beckinsale and Joe Jonas both have oval-shaped faces, and therefore can pretty much pull off any style shades. To get Kate's look, shop for square-shaped frames with rounded edges. And to copy Joe's style, why not take a pair of ever popular aviators out for a spin? No matter which style you choose, stick to oversize frames to complement your long face.

    Round-Shaped Faces

If your face is circular, meaning the length from your forehead to your chin is about the same as from ear to ear, imitate Christina Ricci and Elijah Wood by protecting your eyes with oversized and slightly angled frames. Here, Christina does a great job flattering her face with a pair of large shades that come to a point towards the top corners. Find styles that are similar to Christina's here!

    Square-Shaped Faces

Got a square mug like Kelly Ripa and Johnny Depp? Lean towards rounded frames to balance out all your angles. Girls, try cat eye styles or round shades, which you can find here. And guys, go for oval styles that are slightly rounded at the edge.
