    Rule #1: Wear Sunscreen Daily
Choose one that is broad-spectrum and also has anti-aging ingredients to keep your skin looking youthful.

    Rule #2: Sport Your Sunnies
Try to always wear sunglasses with a UV 400 rating, since they offer up 100 percent UV protection. There's new research that shows even eyes can be sunburned, causing damage that could possibly lead to skin cancer.

Rule #3: Outdoors? Re-Apply SPF Every 2 Hours
This is especially true when you're engaging in sports, since sunscreen can sweat off, leaving you unprotected. Also, be sure to slather up after swimming in the pool or ocean, since formulas tend to wash off in the water.

To help you remember when it's time to slather on your SPF again, check out A Sun Alert Lite, a free app on iTunes that reminds you (with the help of an alarm) when to re-apply.

Rule #4: Switch Up Your Cleanser
As the weather heats up your body tends to produce more oil, which can trigger breakouts.

To fight off pesky pimples, swap out your mild cleanser with an oil-free exfoliating one that will help keep pores free and clear of dirt and bacteria and prevent them from becoming clogged.

    Rule #5: Protect Your Pout
Using an SPF-infused balm on your lips is crucial, especially since lip cancer is on the rise and is the first one to spread to other areas of your body.

    Rule #6: Seek Shade
The mid-day sun is the strongest (it's when ultraviolet rays are most damaging) so try to stay indoors between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. If you can't avoid being outdoors, be sure you re-apply your SPF every two hours (we can't stress this enough).

Rule #7: Go For a Faux Glow
Turn to your trusty self-tanner to get that sun-kissed glow instead of sunbathing.

    Rule #8: Smooth Your Soles
Use a pumice stone daily to rid your heels of any rough, dead skin, then apply moisturizer. The result? They'll be silky-smooth and sandal-ready.

    Rule #9: Shield Yourself
Choose a wide brimmed hat (that's at least two inches wide) to protect your face from sun damage. Bonus: It will also prevent your hair color from fading.

Rule #10: Slough Away Dead Skin
Increase your weekly exfoliation to twice a week, since hot summer weather causes you to sweat more, which leads to a build up of dead skin and bacteria-and a dull-looking complexion.

Use facial pads that contain a chemical exfoliant, such as glycolic or salicylic acid, or use a physical exfoliator, like a grainy mask to help slough away flaky skin.
