Day dresses are an essential part of your summer wardrobe -- they are incredibly easy to throw on, and can be dressed up or down depending on how you accessorize them. Here are 10 options that are not only super cute, but they're also under $50!

    1. Forever21 Ikat Print Knit Dress ($19.80, forever21.com). This dress pops with color and features the stylish ikat print.

    2. Delia's Dot Cropped Twofer Dress ($31.50, delias.com). Polka dots will never go out of style, and this dress looks like a much more expensive Halston Heritage design.

    3. O'Neill Sun Glow Dress ($42, zappos.com). Be as bright as the sunshine in this cute, orange piece (bronzed glow not included).

    4. Vintage Havana Day Dress ($39, piperlime.com). White is a major trend for this summer, and this tight tube top dress is flattering on everyone.

    5. Roxy Endless Summer Dress ($44.50, roxy.com). We heart maxi dresses, especially when they're as cheerful and fringe-friendly as this one!

    6. ZARA Striped Jersey Dress ($39.90, ZARA stores). This dress is so versatile, you could wear it to work with a cardigan or blazer.

    7. Lipsy Frill Front Ditsy Floral Maxi Dress ($35.08, us.asos.com). We don't have to tell you how hot florals are this summer. This is such a romantic version, it's perfect for a day date!

    8. H&M Striped Dress ($12.95, H&M stores). Another sexy trend is nautical, and nothing's more boat-worthy than navy and white stripes.

    9. LuLu's Cute Club Leopard Print Dress ($33, lulus.com). Rarr! Show off your wild side in the park or on a shopping trip in sexy leopard print.

    10. Kohl's Daisy Fuentes Lace Shift Dress ($32.40, kohls.com). Lace will probably never go out of style, especially when there are dresses this classic being made!

Tell us: how many summer day dresses do you own?

I know what you mean Lucky! Its already been up in the 80's here! People look like fools wearing boots when its that hot out!

I'm in my mid-50's and I'm a smaller frame, but big breasted. There is no way I can go without a bra. Why do summer dresses all have to be spaghetti straps? I would pay a designer $$$ if he had half a brain and showcase a line for the over 40 crowd that is fashionable and youthful that doesn't scream that your 50 and trying to look 15! Makes me want to get out my sewing machine and get back into sewing. Wonder if its more expensive to make your own vs. buying off the rack?

YIKES only fashion victims will wear the short dress with BOOTS in the summer. Looks stupid and can you imagine the stink from all the sweat on your poor hot feet?! Ridiculous!

Yeah, a couple are kinda cute and really too short. You have to have a very good figure and toned arms and legs to pull these dresses off.

I like something with maybe a small collar or some type of sleeves.

Everything shown is for teens and twenties - how about something for a little bit more mature women.

Out of 10 models and not one has "color" in her skin. What's wrong with advertisers? Don't they know there are colored woman from Asia, Africa and South America ethnicities that buy clothes?

I went to LuLu's to get the animail print dress and they DON'T have it. Too many times i find things I like and go the site suggested and it's NOT there. Not even in the "sale" section. I would appreciate someone telling me if they know were to go to get the animal print dress supposed to be on LuLu's site.

The Lipsy one looks like a night gown! The only one that isn't too short or ugly is the lace one, but I'm unsure how many places that would be appropriate. Not really a work style.

how about dresses that look good on women larger than a size 00?
    • Tabitha  •  8 months ago
so what about some dresses for ladies with a larger than b bust? HELLOOO!!! i wouldnt be able to wear half of them without a bra... unless i was a slut. no way to say that nicely really... though even with a bra i would feel like a hooker because you could SEE the bra strap. yes, i know there are strapless bras, but again hello?! i want to be comfortable and cute. not slutty.

of course its not just my boobs slutty-tastic that im worried about. i also have a butt. i would be saying "LOOK AT MY UNDERWEAR" if i wore nearly all of them. darn it people!! think with your head not your sexuality.

why is it that only clothes for a size 2 body are shown? i have meat on my bones and none of those dresses would look good on me.

Not all people that look at your site are 20 and skinny!! These dresses are not for the average women, they are not even pretty for the 20 yr olds!!!

I just love Summer dresses! I could rock them all!

Welcome back to the 60's. These dresses are hideous and not worth the price. If you want ugly dresses like these, try your local Good Will Store where you'll spend no more than $1.99 each.

I agree that these dresses are way too short for normal women. Thin teenagers look great in these but there are many more 30+ women who work and go to church who cannot wear the really short styles. The long dresses seem way too hot looking for steamy summer weather.
