Keep your kids' bathroom organized!
At our house, bath time is an entertaining event. My son crawls around the bathtub. My daughter likes bubbles and splashing. Both kids love playing with their bath toys. Over the years, we have accumulated a lot of rubber duckies, squirting bath toys and plastic boats. Now that we have two kids, there are more toiletries, hooded towels and clothing to manage. As a result, our kids' lavatory can become messy. However, there are 10 quick solutions for a better-organized kids' bathroom.
1. Organizing Caddy
My son uses a different shampoo than my daughter. My daughter also needs a detangler. Keeping all of these items in an easy to reach caddy allows me to quickly access the bath products. When bath time is over, the toiletries can be organized.
2. Mesh Toy Holder
I love the mesh toy holders because they keep all of the toys contained. In addition, it allows the toys to dry out. This way those rubber duckies don't harbor mold and mildew.
3. Hooks
Hooks are great for hanging hooded towels. It prevents towels from being left on the ground. This means less mess for mom and dad.
4. Hamper
My daughter needs a gentle reminder to put her clothes in the laundry basket. Keeping a laundry basket near the bathtub helps us keep the clothes off the ground.
5. A Container for Everything
My daughter has at least 50 hair bands. I keep these in a small container in the medicine cabinet. We have a big basket for towels. I use old baby wipe tubs for cotton balls and swabs.
6. An Extra Cabinet
Our house doesn't have a lot of storage. Thus, we bought a small floor cabinet to store toilet paper. It has a drawer to keep toothpaste and toe nail clippers.
7. Suction Cup Toothbrushes
Suction cup toothbrushes prevent toothbrushes from falling in the sink. Kids simply stick their toothbrush on the countertop and cover the bristles with a toothbrush jacket. My daughter thinks it's fun to suction cup her toothbrush to the counter.
8. Personalize It
Kids are bound to get their cups and towels mixed up. Soon, each person has two cups and two towels. Monogramming their towels and washcloths will reduce the amount of dirty laundry. Designating a cup for each child can eliminate extra items in the bathroom too.
9. Rotate Toys
At one point, my daughter had too many bath toys. We kept half in the bathroom and half in the hallway closet. Every few months, I switch the toys.
10. A Minute to Clean it
An uncluttered bathroom is always easier to organize. At the end of the day, I give my daughter a "minute-to-clean-it." This is when we go through the bathroom and pick up anything off the ground or loose in the bathtub. It's amusing and it works.
These organizing tips have reduced the amount of time we spend cleaning up our bathroom. This leaves more time for fun!
