If you love Scrabble...
Try: One Up! This fast-moving word game starts with tiles facedown. Flip three over and continue until a word can be made--make as many as you can and steal 'em from other players. "Stealing words really turned up the competition, which the kids loved," said one tester, whose 16- and 14-year-olds went nuts for it. Play with two to five players ages 13 and up. To buy: $15; amazon.com.

If you love Pictionary...
Try: Telestrations. It's a hybrid of Pictionary and the telephone game, where each player starts the round with a secret word. The sketching and interpretation is passed around the group. "My whole family was laughing at the crazy results," raved one tester, whose kids are 15, 13, and 9. "It was a blast!" Play with four to eight players ages 12 and up. To buy: $29.99; amazon.com.
