Our Current Obsession: Foxes’ Doe Eyes

We sure love our electro-pop and Foxes is no exception. Meet Louisa Rose Allen, a 23-year-old chick from London currently touring the US in support of her new EP called "Warrior," now available on Neon Gold Records. The name Foxes comes from the title of an early song she wrote as a teen, but it also helps distinguish her from another similarly named famous British singer, Lily Rose Allen. Foxes is quickly gaining momentum here in the states with several songs featured on "Gossip Girl" earlier this year.

As for her style, Foxes has said she loves beat up Converse and shopping at vintage stores. Sounds like our kind of gal! Her best accessory though, has to be her eyelashes. She flaunts her signature Zooey Deschanel-esque Bambi-eyed look readily in her latest video, "White Coats" and we were inspired to copy them. Here's what you need to achieve doe eyes.

1. Apply a neutral shadows to your eyelid. Find something similar to your skin tone that will provide a boost for the liner you're about to apply. Next use use a light shimmery shadow to highlight under the brow bone and in the inner corners of your eye to open up the area.

2. Line your upper and lower lids. Depending on the severity of the look you can try either a liquid liner (more defined) or a pencil (more relaxed) in dark brown or black. We love the marker-like applicator of CoverGirl's Line Exact Liquid Liner Pen ($6.99) and Dolce & Gabbana's Kohl Eye Pencil ($29) which is pricy but lasts forever and ever. Get as close to the lash line as you can and wing out the liner slightly on top to a soft cat eye. Stop lining as you approach the inner corners to give a round-eye effect.

3. Curl your top lashes with an eyelash curler. We use them daily as it opens up the eyes and makes you look more awake.

4. Pile on mascara! Apply two coats of a formula that promises to add length and volume and make sure to wiggle the wand around close to the lash line for fullness. We suggest a bristle-heavy version like Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara ($14.23).

5. Add falsies. Many celebs wear them regularly, but in the real world we reserve them for fun nights out. You can try a row of fake lashes or of you've got a steady hand try cutting up the strips into pieces or applying individual lashes with eyelash glue.
