5 simple remedies for soft and smooth winter skin

Every year we adjust our wardrobes for the cold. But as we’re breaking out the jackets and boots, we’re often overlooking the fact that we need to adjust our beauty routines, too. The colder months take more of a toll on our skin than we realize. The good news is a few simple tweaks to our regimens can make a big difference. In this episode we highlight five easy fixes that will get you through the cold, dry season with smooth, happy skin.

    Shorten your showers

I know. They feel great. But long, hot showers actually remove moisture from your skin and can leave it dehydrated. We’re not saying you should stop showering-- just speed up the process.

    Get sharp about shaving

Shaving can irritate your skin, especially if it’s already dry. Make sure to incorporate shaving cream and change the blades in your razor often so they won’t get dull.

    Moisturize everywhere

Most of us are pretty good about moisturizing our faces but we forget that the rest of our bodies needs the same treatment. An intensive hydrating option is Olay Ultra Moisture Lotion because each bottle contains more than jar of Olay moisturizers.

    Slather on the sunscreen

Even if you don’t feel the warmth, UV rays are beating down on your skin all year round. Creams containing sunscreen cut down your exposure to the damaging rays, which can exacerbate dryness and lead to wrinkles and skin cancer.

    Protect your lips

When your lips feel dry and tight, it’s hard not to lick them. Resist the urge! You’re actually drying out your lips more. Instead, indulge in lip balm with SPF and cover up behind a soft scarf.

I keep hearing that extra virgin olive oil is great, so I've started using it to remove excess make-up after the initial removal with water. I also use it as a moisturizer. To combat the winter cold and add an extra avenue for feeling warm, as well as moisturizing the rest of the skin, not just the face, I am going to start using warm extra virgin olive oil before going to bed.

This is false rubbish unless you have good skin most of the time & only occasionally get chapped skin.

I love this host, she's so pretty and classy. I'm really annoyed by the hosts from "omg now" their voices are high pitched and that are so stupid. Keep this woman working! love her!
