Something I find impossibly difficult is acting my age. I'm okay with this because telling a woman to act her age is just another way of forcing her to comply with society's standards and not her own, and we don't need anymore of that in today's landscape, thank you. However, I (yes, I of the mini skirts and too much eyeliner) am all for dressing appropriately, as everyone who knows me well will steadfastly disagree with while laughing hysterically. But the times they ARE a-changing for me, anyway, in subtle ways. As I approach thirty, I do find that hemlines can be too high and fabrics too cheap-looking than they seemed to me a decade ago. There are no rules, per se, but there are guidelines. The celebrity women in this gallery are beautiful, talented and stylish, yet some of them aren't hitting the mark in the Suitably Dressed category. It’s no secret that either of these young women are drop-dead gorgeous, and for different reasons. Jennifer’s got the edgy, cool, approachable beauty, while Amber Heard has an air of glamour and sensuality about her. There’s no comparison, however, for me with regards to these metallic gold gowns: Jennifer’s over-the-top lamé with side cut-outs absolutely steals the show without revealing too much, while Amber’s over-reveal steals the show from HER. It makes her look older than she is, and that’s never fun.
