Fashion and beauty essentials for spring

You know what I love to do when I’m bundled in sweaters, scarves, and puffer coats? Think about SPRING. I love the bold colors, peplum skirts, and ladylike dresses that are coming, and I love to think about what sorts of goodies I’m going to add to my makeup bag. In this episode, P&G beauty expert Sarah James brings us some award-winning beauty products and we dress her up in three spring looks that we’re especially excited about.

When it comes to trends and designers, I'm all for taking risks and trying out new things. Products are a different story. I prefer to go with what’s solid and proven and effective. Sarah James brought over a few of her favorites from brands with an impressive pedigree—they’ve won a combined 32 Readers' Choice Awards and 30 Best of Beauty awards from Allure magazine in the past three years.

    Youthful glow

We all want this no matter how many birthday candles are on our cake. Olay Regenerist Micro-sculpting Cream hydrates, lifts and firms around the jaw line.

    Bouncy blowout

High-volume hair is key to lots of the looks of the season. To amp up fine-textured hair, Sarah loves Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Solutions Flat to Volume Shampoo and Conditioner.

    Bold lashes

Whether you prefer smoky eyes or love to rock neutral shadow and bold lips, add volume and length to your lashes with COVERGIRL’s LashBlast Fusion Mascara.

    Waterproof protection

Everything starts to heat up in the spring! Secret Clinical Strength Waterproof deodorant outlasts heat, humidity, and water.

…. And the looks we love for Sarah hit on three trends we’re loving:

    Colored skinny jeans

They’re still going strong. We chose a pair in an electric "Tangerine Tango" shade and styled it with a silky button-down and a some sexy pumps.

    Dropped-waist dress

Add even more sparkle to a 1920s-inspired sequined tank dress with metallic flats and statement earrings.

    The urban anorak

Not the shapeless kind! Spring runways were filled with hooded, fitted options that add a sporty flair to a casual look.

Post on our Facebook wall and let us know which looks are you favorite.

One important thing, that I always find overlooked, is make-up (foundation, moisturizer) that is non-comedogenic (won't clog pores). They are a must in the summer, because another thing EVERY woman goes through and it does not get put out here, is menopause! Woman can start in their early 40's or later, the older one gets, symptoms can stop or not. So having a make-up that doesn't clog your pores ( because you WILL sweat) is a basic, essential. Olay complete, allday UV moisturizer, normal, light, non-greasy lotion is one. L'Oreal Age Perfect, Hydrating make-up (mousse foundation) is another and what a lovely product, it is. The best foundation I ever used, was Halston.Younger women need non-comedogenic make-up(moisturizers, especially), because clogged pores leads to acne and WHO wants that?? Non-comedogenic make-up is an essential for every age group. Summers are becoming hotter and in the city, humidity/pollution, assaults our skin.We all know, not being able to sweat is a BAD thing and having your pores clogged because of make-up is a worse thing. You can have even skin tone, brightness, etc., using make-ups/moisturizers, that do not clog the pores. Every woman should look for these and perhaps post, that we need to hear more about non-comedogenic products!

NO way would I wear those skinny jeans with pumps. Flats or sandals is my pick.

The urban anorak is absolutely me, walking down the city streets. Right down to the ankles of the pant leg, that are scrunched. Peplums are not a good look for everybody. Take a good look in the mirror before you buy. Saw 3 girls, yesterday, that had the colored jeans. One had red, one had green and yes, one had yellow. Well, the couldn't help but be noticed. If they are not age-appropriate, for you, then don't wear them. To me, these girls were hip and doing their thing. So, right on

This is nothing more than an advertisement for P&G's chemical laden, animal tested cheap products.

Sure it may work, but in the long run its bad for your hair. It has chemicals in it that cause build up over time and its hard to get out. It also causes dandruff, that's why its cheap and works.

I hate the videos that are thinly veiled ads for a brand. I didn't even watch pass the "...from P&G"

This seemed more like an advertisement. Not falling for it. I'll go to Good Housekeeping's Seal if I want what has been proven to work.
