Stars strut their stuff for heart health

It wouldn't be New York Fashion Week without a kick-off Heart Truth Collection Red Dress fashion show. An A-list celebrity roster and a slew of beautiful dresses glided, strutted and danced down New York City's Lincoln Center runway to raise awareness for heart disease. Since 2003, celebrities have demonstrated their powerful ability to garner support for the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health. All the beautiful donated gowns and cocktail dresses are available via an auction ending March 4th. The proceeds from the sales will benefit women's heart health awareness and research. Get ready to be captivated..

Garcelle's dress looks more like a wedding dress , not a runway dress!

Alphonzo: don't give a dime to help people with cancer? You should probably know that pink ribbon = BREAST cancer (not "women cancer") and BLUE ribbon = prostate cancer.
    • guess who - it's you ...  •  1 year 3 months ago
It's super that they can do events like this and have fun for a good cause! But Alphonzo, how insensitive are you? Obviously men's AND women's health is important. If you think there's too much focus on women's health, step up and spread the word about men! But don't you dare say not to give money to women's health charities; we deserve life-saving research too.

      Dita looked amazing.

Alphonzo... most health research is conducted on men. Should I boycott all pharmaceutical companies and Universities who don't conduct an equal amount of research on women and men???

Would you like a pink ribbon too Alphonzo? If it's that important to you, start your own charity. It's not rocket science. No one ever said woman's health is more important, it's simply someone started a charity group for women. No one stepped up to make one for men. So... go! Start one... stop whining.

Twice as many men die of heart attacks as women. Same is true of cancer. That's right off the gov't. web site. Whenever I see a pink ribbon sticker at some business, I refuse to go in. Period. I urge all men to boycott any establishment or organization that think's women's health is more important that men's. Don't give a dime to these people.
