Here's the key to summer dressing: easy, versatile style choices that take you from day to night. We've got some fashion and beauty tips to share that will keep you cool, comfortable AND glam.
I'm always looking for something I can put on at 7am that will still look great (i.e. appropriate, not wrinkled) 12 hours later. We found a tie-dye dress from Rachel Rachel Roy for Macy's, one of my new favorite brands, that totally fits the bill. Tone down the loud pattern with a black blazer and some wedges for work. At night, ditch the blazer and swap the wedges for sky-high peeptoes with a covered platform. The hidden platform allows you to wear a super high heel that's shockingly comfortable. Crazy, but true.
A "messenger clutch" from Forever 21 is a great discovery. Wear it across your body like a classic messenger tote. It's big enough to hold your wallet, gadgets, makeup, etc. But it can also function like an elegant clutch if you fold and tuck the long strap into the main compartment.
Another product that makes day to night transitioning this summer a little easier: Secret's Sheer Mineral deodorant. You want to feel cool and confident, and this is 24-hour protection that still lets your skin breathe.
Summer hair can also be a challenge- I look like Shirley Temple when it's humid- so we've got a hairstyle that will keep your locks tamed and looking BETTER after a long day instead of worse. It's called a textured side braid, and it's recently been the red carpet look of choice for a ton of celebs like Nicole Richie, Kate Bosworth, Selena Gomez, Audrina Patridge, Leona Lewis and Katie Cassidy. Watch the video for a DIY demo!
Hope you like the tips. If you've got any of your own to share, let us know! We'll be back soon from our Planet Hollywood studio in Times Square with a brand new episode.
