For the past year and a half, I've been growing my hair out. As you can imagine, it's the most frustrating test of my patience. (Why does hair grow so slow?) The only thing making this challenge any easier is having a good hair day. And for that, you need good hair product. Here's what I keep in my great hair arsenal!
Shampoo and Conditioner
Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy: Yes, Heidi Klum has been pimping this line. And for good reason! It's about $8 for the pair. The product smells amazing. The BEST smelling product I've ever cleaned my hair with. I went swimming recently and had several people say my hair smelled great, even though it was chlorine-soaked!
Leave-In Conditioner
Garnier's Moroccan Oil: Apply this to your damp hair post shower. It's not what you think. Most oil leaves your hair...well, oily. Not with this! It soaks into your hair so easily, almost like it's water-soluble - not like oil at all. With other oils, when I wash my hands after application, I have to use a lot of soap to get the "grease" off my hands. But, I don't even have to use soap with this. This leaves my hair shiny and not frizzy at all. Perfect to combat this crazy Midwest humidity! And at $5 per bottle, yes, please!
Deep Conditioning Treatment
Raw Organic Coconut Oil: Plain and simple. You can get it from any natural foods store for under $5. Scoop it out of the container, and wait for the solid to melt into a liquid from your body heat. Evenly coat your hair and cover with a shower cap for an hour. It'll take a couple firm washes, but your hair will feel amazingly soft. I do this treatment once every two weeks. It does a nice job of restoring shine and your hair's healthy, natural oils.
I love these products. Since I let my hair air dry, these products allow me to do very little work with ready-to-go results. And that's my kind of styling!
