    Tips for reducing hair breakage

Whether it's the result of bleaching or using your flat-iron too frequently, dealing with hair breakage is definitely frustrating. Hair that breaks off easily is very fragile and doesn't grow very much. Although you can't stop your hair from breaking off overnight, you can reduce it in time. Here are some tips for reducing hair breakage.

Avoid brushing your hair when it's wet

If you're someone who brushes her hair when it's wet, stop right now. Using a brush on your hair when it's wet can severely damage it and cause it to break off. Always use a wide-toothed comb to detangle wet hair. If your hair is extremely tangled when you get out of the shower, try spraying it with a leave-in-conditioner before you comb it.

Use a protein treatment every two weeks

Hair that breaks off easily lacks protein, so you will need to give your hair a protein treatment to restore some of the protein in it. A good protein treatment to try is Redken Extreme Cat Protein Reconstructing Treatment. It's a wonderful product and will make your hair a lot stronger. Don't use a protein treatment on your hair more than once every two weeks; too much protein can dry out your hair.

Stop using heat styling tools all the time

I know it's difficult, but it's time for you to put down the blow-dryer and flat-iron. While these tools can make your hair look great at first, they will damage it in the long run. I'm not saying you have to completely give up heat styling tools; just only use them on special occasions. If you're just hanging out at your house all day, you don't have to straighten your hair.

    Eat a healthy diet

In order to keep your hair strong and healthy, you have to eat a healthy diet. Your diet should be high in zinc, protein, irons and B vitamins. Salmon, nuts, eggs, cheese and carrots are some of the foods you should eat to promote healthy hair.

Following these tips will reduce hair breakage and make your strands much stronger and healthier.
