Anyone with kids knows how difficult it is to keep them entertained the entire time. When you're not at the beach, the amusement park or whatever your last-minute vacation is this summer, there are the boring road trips and hotel stays. For this very reason, I am always sure to bring along our favorite tech gadgets for the kids. They help keep them entertained during those less-than-amusing moments, which equates to less stress for this mom.
Here are my top 5 gadget picks for a last-minute summer vacation:
1) LeapFrog Tag Junior Scout Reading System
This travel-sized book pal (shaped like an adorable puppy!) has plenty of entertaining and educational activities. All you have to do is buy a Tag book and download the audio before you leave. It's small and easy to cart around, so it's perfect for your road trip. I bought mine at Target Electronics for just $29.99, so it's an inexpensive investment for your summer vacation.
This player allows us to wirelessly stream our favorite television shows and movies. We love it for the hotel room, especially since most of them have limited cable. We like to watch it as we're settling in for the night. For just $49.99, it's something we'll use over and over again.
3) Video Games
Video games are another great choice for unwinding after your vacation activities. My boys recently tried the new Amazing Spider-Man, and they had a blast with it, especially since they had recently seen the new film. With many video games under $50, it can be a fairly inexpensive entertainment choice.
4) Nook Color
I really like to encourage reading with my boys, so we take our eReaders everywhere! My 5-year-old son reads his favorite children's book on the road to our vacation destinations. For $169.99, it's a little expensive, but it's well worth it for little readers on the go!
5) GoPro HS Hero2 Outdoor Edition Digital Camcorder
This product is made for the outdoors! It's durable, waterproof (great for beach vacations!), and easy to use. It takes great pictures, letting you capture your memories crystal clear. Parents, make sure you hold onto this one. At around $300, you'll want to keep it out of little hands!
