True-life confessions: What's your worst eBay purchase ever?
People often ask me about my eBay habit, and what they basically want to know is how to foolproof the buying from an online auction process. Like "How do you know it will fit?" (Answer: Use a measuring tape), or "How do you know what to search for?" (Answer: Spend an embarrassing amount of time on the site), or "How can you trust people to send you stuff?" (Answer: You can't.) But the truth is, even though I shop and write about it a lot, I still make tons of mistakes on eBay. Read More »

90s revivals—"90210," "Jurassic Park" and the "Terminator" will be back
And here you thought the 90s revival just meant seeing teenagers back in neon clothes and colored denim this summer! First came word that the CW was working on a 90210 spin-off. Now two big 90s movie franchises are on their way back to the big screen. Christian Bale (aka this summer’s Batman) has signed on to play John Connor in the next three sequels to Terminator. He is currently on set of the first film, Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, set to debut on May 22, 2009. But will California Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger take on the role of Terminator again? We doubt it. 1991’s T2 was the real smash hit—we don’t know anyone who even saw the third installment. Next up, comes the fourth sequel to 1993’s dinosaur extravaganza (and previously Michael Crichton’s novel) Jurassic Park. Laura Dern says she’ll be revisiting her old role as a doctor says, “I know [director] Steven Spielberg is looking forward to [getting it together] over the next year." Read More »

Mia from Chubby Jones knows who wins ANTM, but she's no spoiler
The best news we've heard in awhile is that Fraggle Rock is coming back on the air. This, plus the return of 90210, makes us feel like we're in heaven. Add Mia from pop culture blog Chubby Jones on the pink coach and life is looking pretty peachy indeed.

Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling are moving back to their old zipcode, 90210
It’s official: Jennie Garth will be returning to "Beverly Hills, 90210," resuming her role as Kelly Taylor eight years later on the new CW spin-off. It seems Kelly couldn’t get enough of her alma mater, as she will play is a guiding counselor at her alma mater, West Beverly Hills High. After being burned, joining a cult, raped, held at gunpoint, diet pill and coke addict, shot, killing someone and having temporary amnesia it’s amazing Kelly can take care of herself, let alone advise other youngsters! Let’s hope her return will inspire some flashbacks. It’s also being reported (yet it remains unconfirmed) that Tori Spelling aka Donna Martin is Beverly Hills bound as well. Eh, we’re a little less psyched on that one… we want them to bring back Brenda and Dylan! Read More »

Hillary Duff to star in "90210" remake? Good or bad?
Rumor has it that Hillary Duff has been approached to star in the CW's remake of Beverly Hills, 90210 to play Annie Mills, a theater kid who likes emo music (this isn't much of a stretch, eh?). Not sure how I feel about this.

Just at dinner last night, a group of friends and I spent about 30 minutes talking the glory of 90210; how awesomely it fit into 90s teenage culture. Since we bid adieu to Brendan, Kelly and Steve, there have been a plethora of shows that have tried to recreate the magic. The O.C. and Gossip Girl are two successful examples, but the O.C. only lasted three seasons and Gossip Girl is still on its first. 90210 lasted a whopping TEN seasons! Is "Gossip Girl" really the best show on TV? Nah. But it's close!
New York magazine has declared CW’s Gossip Girl “the greatest teen drama of all time.” Like Fashion + Beauty Editor Jen, we too are hooked on the this series (we are rejoicing at last night’s mid-season return—our DVR was depressed in it’s absence), we wouldn’t go as far as to say it’s better than our beloved 90210 or even the deeply insightful yet short-lived My So-called Life. And we’re still not sold on if it can withstand the test of time.
The reasons why this show is one of our faves: Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (8) | Blog

Kelly, how could you? Jennie Garth loves Crocs
I don't know why I find this image of Jennie Garth and her family so disturbing. I mean, I was always a Brenda girl anyway. I basically felt hurt by the show forever once Kelly massively betrayed her best friend by wearing a scary, Jackie Collins-esque cheetah print bathing suit and seducing...
