Whatever happened to PB&J?
Once I knew that I was going to have a baby I couldn't help but notice all of the "food" marketed for infants and children. They start with the formulas and move onto to the purees and cookies, and veggie sticks, etc, etc, ad naseum. What ever happened to the idea of feeding your children what you eat? Read More »

10 surprisingly healthy yummy foods
After reading about how much trans fat is in Special K's entire line of meal replacement foods, I started pondering the weird switcheroo that is going on behind the scenes. It's like we're living in a science fiction movie, where the supposed obesity epidemic is driving us to the diet... Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (77) | Blog

I was in a market last night and I saw a couple shopping together in the produce section. While I was looking over the mangos (yup, I’m still on a big mango kick) the man asked, “Do you want any bananas?” and she replied, “I don’t eat bananas, they’re fattening.” I really had to bite... t's back to the grind today - I am mostly working from home though
which is a relief after all the time I spent in the car yesterday. I

How to Make Tempura at Home!
Tempura is the perfect party snack. Everyone loves tempura - it's more or less healthy (since it is mostly made with vegetables), most everyone likes fried foods, and yet it's not heavy like many fried foods are... it's actually pretty light! Most anything can be tempura fried. Typically sliced vegetables and shrimp are the normal tempura fare, but meats, sushi (yum!), and even bananas can be tempura fried! (Just make sure you get an underripe banana, because it softens when you fry it so ripe bananas will fall apart. Don't believe me? Look at this post on my website where I used a tempura fried banana in sushi!)
I originally posted this tempura recipe on my website, SushiDay.com.
