surrounded by candles and accompanied by a favorite playlist, the
right tub can transform your home into the ultimate spa. But to be
truly dream-worthy, it needs a form that can wow us all on its own.

Prior to becoming a parent you might not like using public restrooms. They're usually pretty darn gross. But most of us have braved some really horrible bathroom situations at one time or another - at frat parties or clubs - because you just can't "hold it" forever. And…

(You know the drill) Well it has been a while since I last blogged here (mostly because none of you read this and no one comments) but I've been in a bit of a rut so I figured I would blog, just to change the pace. So where do I begin? I guess I could start with my mother. About a year ago,…

I'm not from NYC.. in fact quite the opposite. I have visited a few times, even once in winter. While hanging there on a quick week jaunt with my bro I got a feel for the city, took the subway to Brooklyn and did all the touristy stuff. I got a feel for the culture division, the individuality… Read More »

Thinking of giving your bathroom a quick face lift? Choose your decor from six of our favorite interior styles.
No. 1: Architectural
The rough-hewn wall of this 1825 house was left exposed, to reference the home's history. Placing a vintage footed tub in front of the wall makes it a focal point. Painted floorboards and old-fashioned brass floor-mounted plumbing (try California Faucets) complete the authentic feeling. Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (10) | Blog

Question: I live in a mobile home built around 1970, so there are about three layers of wallpaper in the bathroom. Once I got to the actual base, I realized that it wasn't paneling like the rest of the home. I'm not even really sure what it is -- it has a really grainy texture, almost like plywood. And now I have no idea what to do with it! All I know is that I don't want wallpaper. Please help!
—Jennifer M.
Answer:

Country Living's editor of architecture and home building Rebecca Thienes walks us through bathroom renovating and redecorating ideas from the magazine's 2008 House of the Year in Beaufort, SC. The highlights? A cool, upscale color palette of gray, black and white; slightly antique-y silhouette portrait art; aged bronze lighting fixtures; tumbled-limestone shower tiles; nautical accents; and hardware that echoes fixtures found throughout the home. What do you think of this room?
I also noticed a great story in the July issue of Real Simple that showed 3 easy bathroom upgrades that even renters could pull off. Anyone who has hunted for a rental apartment knows the horrors that outdated bathrooms can be... Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (1) | Blog

Environmentalism has never been so intimate as with the TwoDaLoo, billed as the world's first simultaneous-flush two-seater toilet. The side-by-siders can be emptied individually or in a single 2.6-gallon-saving flush. With a 'privacy wall' and LCD television and iPod docking station add-ons, couples (and, perhaps, just good friends) will enjoy doing double duty for Planet Earth.
