It's Her Party, And We'll Cry Over The Bill Whether We Want To Or Not
Tiaras sparkled under a spinning disco ball, bejeweled wands waved back and forth in the air to the beat of a Hannah Montana song, updos were thoroughly lacquered with silver glitter hair spray, and several divas had already taken to the stage in heels. No, this wasn’t drag queen night at a Key... Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (0) | Blog

Easiest Kid Party Activity Ever: Let 'em decorate cupcakes
You know how sometimes you see something and you say, "That's brilliant!" and then you mentally chastise yourself with the "Why? Why didn't I ever think of that?" Over the weekend I attended Sunset Magazine's Celebration Weekend and had that exact thought about 20... Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (6) | Blog

Glory Be The Gift Closet.
I looked at my calendar for this weekend and realized that my nephew's birthday is on Saturday and, per the usual for me, I do not have a gift ready to send. Harper is turning six this week, which means that I have been running around like a maniac, trying to organize all of her various celebratory gatherings without completely losing my mind. Call me crazy, but when I was a kid, I had ten friends over to our house, we played in the backyard, we ate some... Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (7) | Blog

Guess which celebrity couple spent $100K on their kid's birthday party?
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes clearly misread the memo saying that $10,000 is the new norm for excessive kid's birthday parties. They somehow added an extra digit and spent$100,000 to celebrate the second birthday of daughter Suri. They must feel so silly.NY Daily News reports they had some pretty... Itty Bitty Bites: A cake for brainiacs
I am currently obsessed with birthday cake ideas. I'm starting to think I just need to make them for no other reason than to pretend I'm a pastry chef specializing in kid's birthday cakes. This concept would certainly make my sons giddy. My current favorite comes from the latest issue of... Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (4) | Blog
