Hi fellow beauty lovers! I'm Jessica, a summer editorial intern here at SELF, and this week I have ventured over to the beauty department - which is risky business for a product junkie (like me)! Recently I have stumbled into a whole new world of all-natural, do it yourself beauty. Not… Read More »

We clearly don't have as much clout as Mrs. Winfrey,
but
that's not going to stop us from sharing our list of coveted items. So without further ado …
- Essie “Love, Beverly Hills xx” Nail Polish: Maybe our LA address makes us biased, but the red/gold (real 24k) polish is gorgeous.
- Bumble and bumble Bandballs: A too-cute ball of 100 colorful hair elastics. They're practically sold out everywhere though -- boo!
- Aussie Opposites Attract Styling Mousse: Absolutely no crunching or stiffness, and you can’t beat the price.
- Philosophy Holiday Angel: Calorie-free treat alert! This three-in-one smells like angel food cake and adds gold shimmer to bath water.
- Tube-forming mascaras: They give amazing length and definition and come off easily. Our fave: Clinique Lash Power.
- Redken Blow Away 09 and Iron Silk 07: The new heat stylers were faves of stylists backstage at fashion week where hot tools reign.
- B-named perfumes: Chanel Beige and Benefit B-Spot stole our hearts, we can’t stop spritzing.
- Kiehl's Gentle Exfoliating Body Scrub: So creamy with ingredients like Aloe Vera and Chamomile. We dig the Pear scent.
- Sally Hansen Natural Beauty inspired by Carmindy line: Cheap, paraben-free and colors that look great on everyone. Need we say more?
- Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser: Really? A cleanser? Yeah! Don't knock it until you try it.
- Haven't had enough? More faves here

I love love love The Body Shop, but one of the frustrating things about the manufacturer (although less so now that it was bought by L'Oréal in 2006) is that they will release something that you adore, only to discontinue it after you've absolutely become convinced that you cannot live without it. Such is the way with their Cranberry Body Butter (although that's back now for a few winter months) and several of their aromatherapy salt scrubs. I loved the Revitalizing salt scrub so very much that when they marked it down for final clearance, I bought everything that had the pink Revitalizing label, including some tiny bottles of aromatherapy oil. After I had blown through the pots of scrub Read More »

A quickie trip to Capri for the weekend is probably out of the question, but Acqua di Parma's new Blu Mediterraneo Italian Resort collection will make him feel like he just got back from the shore. The unisex line is made with Mediterranean spa traditions in mind, incorporating scents and textures native to the area. Read More »

Swimsuit season is approaching, and if your skin is looking as dry and ashy as ours, we suggest you take action before Memorial day rolls around. Organic skincare giant Weleda recently introduced their new Birch Body Scrub, just in time to save our hides. The formula uses pure plant oils and extracts to exfoliate and, more importantly, diminish the appearance of cellulite, so your bod looks toned and polished when you slip on that string bikini - or modest tank suit.

Remember that old television commercial for body lotion in which the
model, with her fingernail, scraped the word "dry" into her leg? That
was disgusting.
Even grosser is that I can do it. My skin is is parched.
But now that spring is upon us and my gams are about to be... Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (6) | Blog
