Mom of Tweens: Just kids being kids
By the time the whole cast was giggling through their lines, I felt like I'd been invited into a secret society of children, like The Lost Boys, only with girls, too, and adult supervision. My sons were appearing in a church production of "Malice in the Palace: The Story of...

Mom of Tweens: Sometimes it's okay to let your kid just chill out
For one week, I couldn't find the middle. With one kid at baseball camp all day and the other pretty much playing Sim City much of the time, I had a lesson in extremes - and I'm not sure I liked either end. By the time Friday rolled around, I swore I'd never again lose that...

(Cue the guilt: Both kids reminded me that I’m the boss and I can take time off or work from home whenever I want, at least according to their workplace rules.) Read More »

Hot and bothered: All you need is love
So, I'm back from my week in the woods (sort of), where I was volunteering as a camp counselor for kids with a lot of complex medical needs and backgrounds. And it was SO MUCH FUN. I did it last summer as well, and all the volunteers are terrific people, and it's just great to spend a week... Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (3) | Blog
