In June, the Wall Street Journal reported that the Center for Interdisciplinary Health Workforce Studies at Vanderbilt University’s School of Nursing released a study about 2007-2008 nursing employment patterns. Here’s what caught my eye: “Many nurses who had left the field have re-entered the work force to compensate for a spouse’s lost income or health benefits, the study said. One of our favorite relaunchers is Jules Pieri, founder of Daily Grommet, a site you should all check out. Jules is a designer, consumer brand strategist, and social media guru (her last job was President of Ziggs.com). Programs for those on career break interested in returning to work have been introduced at such a rapid rate over the last few years that we thought it would be useful to identify them all and put them in one place. Therefore, we are proud to announce the iRelaunch Comprehensive List of Career Re-entry Programs Worldwide offered by employers, universities, foundations and other organizations.
We have identified 57 programs so far. Only nine of these programs, or 16 percent, existed prior to 2004.
