Bamboo Keeps You From Smelling Bad…And It’s Cooler Than Cotton (We’re Talking Degrees)
When we hear "bamboo," we think of pandas, groves, sophisticated space dividers, and that new IMAX movie. But, according to Doie Designs, what we should be thinking is "100% sustainable, highly breathable, darn good-looking clothing." Yes, clothing. SheFinds discovered the... What I'll be wearing this weekend: two parties and a BBQ edition
I just now remembered all the stuff I have to do this weekend: I have a Brooklyn party tonight, my sister's 30th birthday party tomorrow and a family BBQ on Sunday for Father's Day. Actually, I love weekends like these. The kind when you know you'll be seeing a lot of people and you want to look cute and you actually have the chance to put together a bunch of fun outfits in succession. After the jump, the combinations I'll try to pull off.
What are you wearing this weekend?

When album jackets inspire prom dresses
We have to admit, we are bummed to see CDs disappear into oblivion, but if it prevents wardrobe disasters like this from happening, maybe it’s not such a bad thing. [Crunktastic]

Holy animal prints! Rogan designs for Target
I have a lot of respect for American designer Rogan Gregory. He's been a pioneer in the socially and eco-conscious fashion movement, helmed several nice-looking, earth-friendly lines (Edun, Loomstate, his own label, Rogan) and all around puts out really great stuff. So I was excited to hear he'd take on a collection for Target (for its GO International line) and that he'd use certified organic cotton throughout. But that was until I saw the clothes.
It's not that they're bad, really. It's more that they're not good. Perhaps it's my prejudice against animal prints (which I only think one should wear sparingly and even then only if the piece is really special—like some glamorous leopard print coats).
Thing is, this collection is supposed to have a safari theme. Which is great. I guess I just don't understand why every animal you might see on the safari needs to be represented.(I'm not kidding—among the 60 pieces are giraffe, leopard, tiger and zebra patterns).
But let's not focus on the negative. This array of skirts, dresses, tops and jeans is still well-made, well-priced and good for the planet. And there are some cute things. After the jump, my picks.

Crave: A galaxy of gorgeous plus-size clothes
It drove me completely bat ----- , when I was plus-sized--the incredible dearth of sexy, sophisticated, well-made clothes for big girls who wanted to look hot and not cheap, fashionable and not crazy, professional and not tragic. It did not seem fair, that selection was limited, more or less, to Lane... Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (5) | Blog
