Jennifer Lopez is on the October cover of ELLE magazine looking, let's face it, amazingly gorgeous, sexy and a whole helluva lot younger than her 39 years. In the accompanying interview, the singer seems relaxed and, weirdly, not all that guarded for a woman who's lived in the public eye for the past 15 years. And, even though there's nothing tremendously illuminating here, something about J.Lo remains really magnetic and likeable. It's as if you want her to be happy, perhaps because she seems so happily suited to celebrity and brings a glamorous, shut-up-and-smile, Old Hollywood sensibility to the role. Rihanna is on the June cover of ELLE magazine looking stylish and sexy and like she has perfect skin—you know, the way she always does. The mag gave us a sneak preview of the interview and it's kind of juicy. In it, the 20 year-old talks about her alcoholic father, her relationship with Chris Brown, the success of "Umbrella" and those pesky rumors that she slept with Jay-Z:

“Well, it’s crazy that you ask me that. People know that it’s not true,” she says, straightening up. “I think it’s kinda a cliché question, and people know it’s not true, so I don’t even know why it’s still addressed to this day. I get asked about it all the time and I’m like, You’re asking, but you know the answer. I don’t even like to address it anymore.”

Hmmm.

In the May issue of Elle magazine (on newsstands April 7th), Simon Doonan interviews our favorite pop queen about marriage, Malawi and why her successors aren't really that cool: "I came on the heels of punk. There was lots of stuff going on, but there wasn’t the coverage. This new Hollywood generation is not punk rock. They are more bourgeois. It’s time to flash something new."
