What Will You Do?
Is it good to send messages to an ex-boyfriend? Eventhough he cheated on you and his parents said bad things about you, too? But his Dad now is in bad condition. Are you going to give your sympathy or you'll stay away from the problem? Is it good enough to send messages to show him how you feel? Read More »

How to be a gracious restaurant guest, or, how to pretty much guarantee good service...
I would like to start this by saying, there are always two sides to every story. And as a patron of any dining establishment, you are obviously not expected in any way to bend over backward for your sever. That is the service we are to provide to you. However, you tend to get better service when we... Read More »

Crabmommy's Momocrite Diaries: Blaming my sloppy manners on motherhood
"Don't talk with your mouth full," I say to Crabkid via a mouth full of food.
"Eat slowly, and chew your food nicely," I say, having long since dispatched my dinner in about twelve seconds.
These are the sorts of things that have been coming out of the Crabmommy mouth of late, when we sit down together for our weekend family dinners. As some of you already know, we don't eat dinner with our child during the week (shocking, I know), so Crabkid isn't always privy to our lax grownup table manners, and maybe that's why we don't pay much attention to them. But lately I've become aware of the following sad state of affairs: not only have my table manners slipped since becoming a parent, but I'm going to have to clean them up for the very same reason.

To be taught- *Style, Etiquette, Personal Apperance*
I am taking a poll to see how many people feel that they need to brush up on their style, etiquette, personal apperance? I feel that nowdays, many people do not pay much attention to their overall look. I am a true believer in the fact that it is more important on how a person... Seriously: Kids learn manners (for $200) while mom and dad chill at the spa
I am a fan of teaching kids manners. I've always thought that it's primarily the role of parents to help their children learn the basics of etiquette. Apparently I am wrong. Instead, parents should be sending their kids to a class called The Art of Etiquette at Montage Laguna Beach while... Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (23) | Blog

Has etiquette died?
In recent years, months, days, I've noticed that people are getting more rude. Is it me, or have people lost all sense of decency? I commute and take a train to and from work. I smile when I see a gentleman offer his seat up for an elderly woman, but unfortunately, it does... Read More »

Bizarre interviewees take the cake, not the job
Would you ever ask an interviewer for a cigarette? Probably not, but job seekers have done just that -- and worse -- according to a new survey about bizarre interview behavior.

The survey was done by OfficeTeam, and here are some of the quotes from executives about real-life interview blunders they experienced:
- "A job applicant came in with a cockatoo on his shoulder."
- "We had one person who walked out of an interview into a glass door -- and the glass shattered."
- "An interviewee put his bubble gum in his hand, forgot about it, and then shook my hand."
While some simple common sense can keep you out of the Interviewee Hall of Shame, all job-seekers would do well to review some of the tips in this article, based on the OfficeTeam survey. In addition, check out this primer on job interview etiquette.
