I’m not a big traveler. As much as I’d love to see the world, that will have to wait till my kids get older and I hit the lottery. Mostly.
I leave tomorrow for a 6-day trip to Rome. The vacation is sort of a fluke and very out-of-character, but an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. My husband’s job is sending him to Italy for work, and we decided to go a week early to see the sights, eat some pasta and have an experience we didn’t think we’d have until retirement.
We thought this was a smart move: My husband’s job would already be paying for his air fare and a few nights in a hotel. We’d have to pick up my air fare and the additional hotel nights we booked. A bargain vacation, right?
