A study on how parents spend their day needs serious revision. We took care of it.
Momlogic's Momstrosity: In what seems like a huge time drain, The American Time Use Survey asked thousands of U.S. residents to keep detailed records of their days. Down to the minute. Then someone designed this crazy interactive graph. The only problem is I think their data is seriously flawed. Like this gem: "At 6:40 A.M., more than 58 percent of the adults living with one child are asleep." HUH??! I bet that sleep-deprived moms were so zoned out from sleepless nights, they wrote down how much sleep wish they got. That's some seriously damaged data.

I am not a perfect mom. I am okay with that. In fact, I have stopped trying to be perfect. Instead, this Mother's Day, I am accepting me for who I am, for the mother that I am.
I will never be "together." There will always be loose ends, some missed step, something that was overlooked or that is falling apart. I'll forget the permission slip, the doctor's appointment, where I put the sunscreen, and even my parents' wedding anniversary. (Sorry, Mom and Dad.)
I'm almost always 5, 10 or 15 minutes late. (Four kids will do that.) Eventually, I get where I need to be. The world doesn't end.

Mothering is an act of love; a relationship more than a role or tasks to accomplish. It's easy to get lost in the to-dos of mothering and lose sight of the relationship.
