Hey guys! Remember how I told you last Monday after running the 10K that I was going on a week-long challenge? After 11 weeks on Body by Glamour, I felt like my body was becoming resistant to weight loss. And food complacency was definitely settling in, so to shake things up a bit, I issued myself the challenge: To follow the Body by Glamour plan to the letter. I tried my hardest and although I had a couple of slip-ups, (involving Skinny Cow ice cream and a few pieces of chocolate) I was intentional about what I ate all week. This is a topic that NO ONE
likes to talk about. It’s a pain to do, and who really wants to
keep a nit-picky little record of every little thing they eat? I
know all the excuses why NOT to keep a food diary; I’ve used them a

Recent studies have shown that food journaling can double weight loss. I can just imagine the party and "We told you so" press releases floating around Weight Watchers' headquarters. But, there is validity to that. I finished the SELF Challenge back in May; lost 9 lbs. and 6.5 inches.... Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (2) | Blog

In our training session this morning, I was telling Lacey that I'm slipping into a bad place with the food stuff. I'm giving into cravings again--mostly for ice cream. Take last night for example: Needing an fix, I bought a pint of Stonyfield Farm frozen yogurt. 140 calories a serving... Read More »

I've been seeing a nutritionist. When I realized that I had gained back every single pound (and then some) from a major weight-loss effort a few years ago, I felt like I needed a sanity check because--even though I eat my veggies and fruits and avoid fast food--something was obviously out of... When I first started this plan, I wrote down every single thing I put into my body. Like, if I ate a crumb from a cupcake at an office birthday party, I'd record it. And I didn't just write "almonds"--I wrote exactly how many, exactly what time of day, and if I happened to be... Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (17) | Blog

Food costs have been a very hot topic in the news lately. I've been busy sharing my tips about how to eat healthfully on a budget, and one near the top of my list is to shop at price clubs (like BJs, Sam's, and Costco). According to the American Dietetic Association, nearly three out of four... Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (54) | Blog
