Want to burn more fat at your next workout without exercising harder or longer? Eat a fiber-filled oats breakfast! A new study in the May issue of The Journal of Nutrition found that women who ate a low-glycemic index, fiber-rich breakfast of muesli (aka uncooked oats, nuts, dried fruit), milk, yogurt and peaches burned more fat when they worked out 3 hours later compared to women who worked out after eating a high-glycemic, low-fiber breakfast of cornflakes, milk, white bread and jam.
