I share the list below with a bit of sadness in my heart. This weekend I got a hair cut, and my new look is on this list -- sad! Ah well, I still like it and think it's totally flattering. Actually, I think that's why a lot of these styles made the list -- because they are flattering on so many people. Still, a lot of us (including myself it would seem) could stand to be a bit more creative.

Cutting curly hair is nothing like cutting straight hair — curly hair needs a lot of shape or it can take on a triangular shape. Here, some tips before you make your next salon appointment:
•Have your stylist cut your hair when it is dry — curly hair is different when it’s wet versus when it’s dry. Once dry, curly hair expands and gets shorter.
•Go for layers: Layers can eliminate bulk in curly hair. Avoid blunt cuts, which only make your curls expand more (not pretty on a hot, humid day!).
