It's difficult to keep up with the dos and don'ts of the ever-evolving uses of email, texting, and IM, and the like. So Yahoo! set out to discover how we Americans have changed our thinking about all this. We found that while most people agree it is appropriate to pick up the phone when sharing news about a life-changing event or tragedy, a startling one out of every 10 respondents thinks it is acceptable to communicate the death of a loved one via an instant message. More than half of the 2000 people surveyed told us they think it's perfectly okay to thank someone via IM. And when it comes to business, nearly half of all respondents could not remember the last time they sent a handwritten letter. Read More »
