Can celebrity relationships really survive?

It seemed to everyone that the once wild, pointy bra-wearing Queen of Pop had settled down for good with her Brit, with her finding Kabbalah, doing massive amounts of yoga, and adopting little David from Malawi. However, all indications point towards a confirmation of a divorce, with word that she's hiring Paul McCartney's divorce lawyer, Fiona Shackleton. Thus, another celebrity marriage bites the dust. It’s no shock which side the animal rights group is on, as Peta issued the following statement:
“For a gal who's best known for her less-than-stellar brains (Chicken of the Sea, anyone?) and her ability to proportionately fill out daisy dukes, I'm gonna go on record saying that if anyone had to wear a ridiculous shirt like this, I'm glad it was Jessica—as people are more likely to follow the opposite of her lead ... ya know, since she's so well respected and all (yes, that was difficult to type without tossing in a hefty LOL). We’ll never know the real story with Jessica Simpson and ex-hubby Nick Lachey (rumor is she cheated and he broke up with her) but the fact remains: Jessica Simpson is unlucky in love. After a slew of bad relationships with John Mayer, Tony Romo and allegedly Johnny Knoxville. At the moment she might be “back on” with Romo, although there’s an ultimatum that overbearing pervy Papa Joe Simpson needs to maintain some distance. All of the factors come together to form one conclusion: Jessica Simpson is not the woman we’d entrust to design our man-attracting undergarments. It’s a good thing celebs keep their last names, because it’s getting hard to keep track of all the recent Hollywood weddings! Ashlee Simpson, 23, and Pete Wentz, 28, welcomed in married life on Saturday at the Simpson’s home in Encino California. It truly was a family affair as papa Joe Simpson officiated the ceremony and sister Jessica acted as maid of honor. Guests included Nicole Richie, Joe Madden, the other members of Fall Out Boy and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, who allegedly broke up with Jessica last week. First he pitched "Newlyweds," a reality show where daughter Jessica and then-hubby Nick Lachey experienced the trials and tribulations of early marriage on camera. After their relationship fell apart (they spent the majority of their wedded life on camera and had no space from the public eye), Joe is back at it trying to get his younger daughter Ashlee and fiancée Pete Wentz a slot on MTV with "Newlyweds 2."
