I felt a sinking feeling. Not responding would be totally blowing her off. Responding while avoiding the hanging question of the dinner-shopping date would make her think I didn't like her. Which isn't technically true--I did like her. A lot, even. We had a really good time together, and any girl who drinks Makers Mark on the rocks is OK in my book. But I'm not feeling it post hook-up, which is unfortunate. The worst part of it is that my reason for my disinterest is not something I feel comfortable divulging to her, and probably something I'd be smacked in the face for revealing. Joe Hottie: Mutually beneficial

For today, let's talk about how I'm still seeing Coffee Girl (or Coffee Cougar, as my editor is fond of calling her). In a nutshell, things haven't really changed between me and Coffee Girl: One of us will text the other something playful (or downright dirty, depending on the time of night and amount of alcohol consumed). Then, the other person chooses to either return the message or ignore it.
Think about it. It's an efficient and mutually-beneficial relationship, and we've met up about a dozen times. Before parting ways until whenever it is we'll see each other again, sometimes we'll get brunch the next morning and b.s. about our jobs and friends and whatnot. Or we don't. Whatever.
