Sometimes we need a little
help figuring out what to make for dinner. Opening the cupboards or
the door to the fridge and peeking inside doesn't always land
us a good idea. So after a long day, wouldn't it be nice if

For years I’ve toyed with the idea of going vegetarian—to better both my health and the environment. Right now my refrigerator is full of amazing summer produce, so my fiancé, Andy, and I eat meat-free meals a few days a week. But I’ve never gone completely meatless, even though I’d like to try. Don’t forget that I’m Puerto Rican, and these social gatherings are a HUGE deal in my family. (They also last several hours…) And I am the godmother of the child, so I had more responsibilities than usual. It was a bit stressful at times, but overall; it was good to be with family. It was also funny to take in people’s reactions when they saw me, since it’s clear that I’ve lost some weight. Read More »

Hi Guys! Everyone’s been talking about how expensive it can get to be healthy. (Check out what Body by Glamour motivation coach, Jillian Michaels, has to say about it here.) We’ve already talked about cheap ways to stay fit, but what about food? Since I started shaping up, (hello six pounds!) I spend significantly more on edibles every week, and I need to cut back a little. Obviously, I don’t want to skimp on the stuff that’s good for me, but I need to come up with a strategy to keep some cash in my pocket. I think the biggest spending factor for me is not my grocery bill--but my lifestyle. I’m always on the go, so I often eat out. This is no good for my wallet or my waistline, so I’m trying to change that. Here are a few tactics I’ve been trying to employ: Read More »

That's why I've been a little intrigued by the natural health gurus who say that ancient practices of Ayurveda could make you healthier--and slimmer. Here's more... Read More »
