    When designers work on show houses, they run into problems just as the rest of us do at home. Our group was no exception. Air vents located smack dab in the middle of walls, awkward nooks and niches and white-box rooms void of architectural details—you name it, they dealt with it. Luckily for us, these stylish spin masters think fast on their feet. Each designer came up with solutions that are both spotlight-stealing and relevant for homes anywhere.

    Like most pros in her field, Nurse Jackie spends more time at work than at home.     Since torching her own home, Nancy Botwin has moved to a simple south-of-the-border abode—but anyone who knows Nancy knows that “simple” will never do. The temptation for life’s finer things has always been the Achilles’ heel for this soccer mom/pot dealer, so Met Home selected designers sure to decorate with decadence in mind. Paul Latham taps into Nancy’s penchant for the organic with terrariums, forest green hues and biomorphic silhouettes. James Biber merges the sacred and the profane with a picnic of martinis and marijuana set under a crystal cross chandelier. Surfacedesign, on the other hand, bring out Weeds’ suburban roots with screens displaying cookie-cutter houses and well-manicured allées. As pretty as things appear, in Nancy's world, somethings are just a facade.
