The mixers you buy at the grocery store always taste too syrupy sweet, too artificially fruity, frustratingly not quite right. You figure it's your fault because you have two hams instead of fists, or because you're not dressed up properly, or there are too few candles and just not enough atmosphere and there's just nothing you can do, short of demolishing your house, redecorating, and revamping your entire wardrobe.
