Ding dong, “Oh my, a visitor” Alison Emerson said aloud. Then she walked over and.” opened the yellow front door. “Hello, I’m Keily, a new detective from the L.A. police.” Keily formally said. “Would you mind if I asked you some questions?” “No, come on in.” Alison cordially said, motioning towards the living room. The room was blue and light brown, like the ocean. Then Keily said, “As you may already know, some of the Wilcox’s property is missing. You most likely are not the thief, but it’s important that I interview you. Where were you the night of Nov. 11th (yesterday)?” Keily asked. “Actually, she was with me, in this room.” said a deep voice.” Keily turned around to see a young man with dark hair and almost black eyes. “Oh, meet my son, Mark,” said Alison Emerson. “OK, did you hear or see anything unusual last night?” asked Keily. “Yes, a screech of brakes.” the Emersons answered together. “Well thank you for your time.” Keily said, heading towards the door. It was a normal boring night in the Wilcox’s faux yellow Victorian house in Los Angeles, California. Claire, the middle Wilcox child was up in her pink, green and brown room “doing homework” with her music blaring. Brian, the youngest of the Wilcox’s children was playing video games in his cluttered dark room at their maximum sound level. Then there was 14-year-old Macy in her almost identical room to Claire talking on the phone in the regular “he said, she said” language. Poor Mrs. Wilcox was preparing dinner with an immense headache in the warm colored kitchen. Then there was a screech, “Mom, Mom, someone just called me on my phone and said beware!” screamed Macy. Mrs. Wilcox sighed “Macy relax, it was just a prank,” she calmly explained. But was it really just a prank? About 15 minutes later everyone was downstairs at the silent dinner table. Macy was texting underneath the table, Brian scribbling on his homework. The pre-teen Claire was playing with her food and Mrs. Wilcox was practically falling asleep, despite the bright lights. Suddenly everyone became alert to the sound of footsteps on crackling leaves and heavy deep breaths. Brian ran to the window to look outside… where there was a face starring in! Read More »
