If Barneys Creative Director and style icon Simon Doonan says it is so, then it must be so: "...every trend has a sell-by date, and the fake tan thing definitely expired this year. What once looked healthy and lush now looks cheesy and has baaad connotations," he says in a Times piece this weekend that heralds the end of carrot skin foreva (for now, anyway). While numerous fashion and beauty experts agree--I mean, Lindsay and Paris might as well have beat whatever dignity at-home bronzing had left over its head with a (lip) stick--it still creates quite the conundrum for self-described "tanoholics" who honestly believe that nothing looks better on their birthday suits than a slightly golden, if orangey, hue.
