Denim and disco: Lanvin and ACNE Jeans party in Paris
What happens when a beloved womenswear designer and a hip denim brand get together? A jam-packed party, for one thing. It was cheek by jowl at the Hôtel de Crillon salon on Monday night, when Lanvin maestro Alber Elbaz celebrated his collaboration with Swedish company ACNE. Parisian A-listers,... Mini Guide to Paris
[Ed. note: This is wonderful, Laure! Thanks for sharing! Anyone else have any favorite spots in Paris—for great home stuff or anything else?]
Paris in the springtime. Nothing could be nicer, right? How about running around with so many things on your list of to do's that you miss, well, Paris? A faithful reader is going to be in Paris in a matter of weeks so I've compiled a list of favorite neighborhood places. But I think one of the nicest things about Paris is that you really can't go wrong. It's all beautiful, there are great shops all over, so just enjoy and don't try to cram too much in!
Le Marais is my favorite part of the city:
Check out Beaubourg/The Pompidou Center and from there find your way to Rue Des Francs Bourgeois, it runs east west starting to the east of the Pompidou. If you follow this you will find a Muji, Auteur du Monde, and a bunch of great little boutiques. Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (4) | Blog

Floral print sheets from Porthault
I went into Porthault the other day looking for blue floral prints. Rose (the appropriately named lady who sees over this herbaceous store) sent me pictures from the stock books in Paris. I just about slid off my chair as I looked over what she sent. Firstly aren't these books heaven? New York is just about bursting with spring, so I can't get enough of a floral print. After these charming flowers that I have never seen before came a page of the more familiar hearts... Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (0) | Blog

Paris Day Six
Not sure what happened to Day Five, but all my activities are accounted for so far. Must be my loopiness...This morning I woke up at 2:00 AM and couldn't go back to sleep - grrrrr. It's 2:00 PM now and I'm going to lie down for a nap after I post. My sleeping patterns are all sorts of... Read More »

The Sun Finds Paris!
Earlier today, I walked up to Jardin du Luxembourg - a perfect, beautiful, peaceful place to take a casual stroll. According to Wikipedia (not the most reliable resource, but this looks right - I even saw some kids getting pony rides):"The Jardin du Luxembourg (familiar nickname Luco) is a... Read More »

The Paris Diaries - Day Four
Yesterday I decided to be a good little introvert and stay inside to recouperate and re-energize. Being around so much energy can be draining - especially when one isn't feeling well. A day of solitude (save a brief trip to the Franprix for a few groceries) was exactly what I needed - I feel... Read More »

The Paris Diaries - Day Three
I was able to meet one of my MySpace friends, Nicolas, on Monday and you can't imagine what a great gift this was for me! He has a car, so he was able to take me all over Paris and show me many, if not all, of the arrondissements in the northeast and southeast part of the city.Nicolas lives in... Read More »

The Paris Diaries - Day Two
On Sunday (Day Two), I walked around the Ile de la Cite - where Notre Dame is. I had wanted to go in to the church at 5:00 to hear the organ for Sunday mass, but the crowds were too much for me. Thousands of people were swarming around the front of the church - it was amazing! So, instead, I walked... Read More »

Big Blonde In A Little French Neighborhood
(Which is only funny if you know the Chris Farley skit from SNL...or not.)I made it to the Monoprix ok - no problem! But something went terribly wrong when I left. The Monoprix, BTW, was supposed to be an upscale Target - at least that's what I read. Au contraire, mon frere (ou soeur). Not even... Read More »
